Path 2

‘For this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’ They began to celebrate. – Luke 15:24 (WEB)

Introduction: My name is Devin Hakala. I walked away from church for 10 years, and in the process I walked away from the Lord. You may find it interesting that I didn’t really think that I was leaving God or walking away from Him during that time. I still thought I loved God, and although I wasn’t attending church anymore I thought I was okay. But God was not first in my heart; I was. It is clear that my focus was on myself and what I wanted, and that led me astray. I deceived myself without knowing it. But God allowed me to return to Him. I had lost my way, but thank God I was found again.

The purpose of this website is to invite you back to a deep, healthy relationship with Jesus Christ. No matter how far away you’ve gone, if your heart is open to God He will lead you back to Him. If you are hurting, He is your Healer. If you have lost your way, He is the Way (John 14:6). If you are confused, Jesus is willing to give you a sound mind, and He has power over any fears you might have.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7

Why the title, “Restored Again”? When we are born again of water and Spirit (John 3:5), our sins are washed away by the Blood of Jesus Christ and we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We are restored to God spiritually for the first time. We become a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). If we walk away from the Lord, or go back to our old “self”, we can be restored again.

God allowed me to walk away from Him. But He never stopped loving me. The Lord was patient, and when I reached for Him, He restored me. It took humbling and denying myself, but He did restore me. He wants to restore you too!

Have you walked away from God? Have you stopped going to church? Do you think you’re too far away from God to live for Him again? It is NOT TOO LATE to return. God loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). The precious blood of Jesus Christ still has the power to wash away your sins.

The nation of Israel sinned many times. Yet even though they broke covenant with God, He still waited many times for them to return to Him. I walked away and sinned, but He did not leave me. When I brought myself to Jesus, and gave Him my heart and life again, He cleaned me up and loved me. Now you have this opportunity to turn your heart again to the Lord.

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. – Isaiah 44:22

You won’t find all of the answers you seek on this website. But I pray that you will find hope through the Word of God and through my testimony, and are encouraged by what you read, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank you for stopping by, and may God bless you, wherever you are.

Sincerely,

Devin Hakala, a restored-again believer in Jesus Christ
